My therapist is sending me to you for Burn Garments. What should I do?
Your therapist will call us to come to the therapy center or have you come see us in one of our offices that is convenient to you. We will measure you and fit you in a Compression Burn Garment made specifically for you.
A burn garment is worn to reduce scarring from a burn or surgery and can help with contracting Keloid scars. The garment is custom made out of special material that allows air to circulate yet keeps gradient pressure on the affected area.
We specialize in these garments and will be able to measure and fit any part of the body that is in need of a compression burn garment.
I’ve had my Burn Garment for Years. How do I know when to replace it?
Your garments compression usually is good for 4-6 months. Insurance usually cover several garment per year because they know that the compression only lasts for a few months. If it’s been more than one year, you should make an appointment and be re-measured.
Differences in weight and other factors can affect the sizing of the garment and its effectiveness. Our compression fitters can re-measure you. Bring in the garment you have been wearing if from another supplier and we will attempt to reconstruct the make, model and measurements.
We can then discuss other options with you and let you know the latest advances in materials and construction so that you can be well advised when you select your new garment. We will be happy to contact your doctor to gain an updated prescription or letter of medical necessity.
