Our History
Caring Touch was started in 2006 with one location in Annapolis MD. The second location was opened in 2009 because of requests from physicians and therapists in the Balimore/Towson areas. In 2010, we began seeing patients in Salisbury at the HealthSouth Rehab hospital on a bi-monthly basis. In 2011 we were asked to open an office in the Alvin and Lois Lapidus cancer Center in Sinai Hosptial of Baltimore.
Our Certifications
BOC Certified
BOC was founded in 1984 as a certification program advocating rigorous professional experience and geared to working O&P professionals seeking to enhance or advance their careers. In the early 1990s, BOC introduced another credential, facility accreditation, to help facilities independently prove their competency in patient care and sound business practices.
On January 1, 2013, BOC fulfilled the requirements of what has come to be known as “The Historic Agreement.” Signed in 2008 by the leaders of five of the national organizations representing the clinical, business, and quality improvement aspects of the Orthotic and Prosthetic (O&P) professions, the agreement was the result of discussions to forge a consensus regarding the minimum standards necessary for education and training of providers of custom orthotics and prosthetics.
BOC credentials celebrate and recognize the competence, professionalism and safe practice environments of BOC-certified professionals and BOC-accredited facilities.

National Lymphedema Network
We are also members of the National Lymphedema Network (NLN). This organization, is an internationally recognized non-profit organization founded in 1988 by Saskia R.J. Thiadens, R.N. to provide education and guidance to lymphedema patients, health care professionals and the general public by disseminating information on the risk reduction and management of primary and secondary lymphedema.
Medicare Certified
All locations are also Medicare Certified and go through a re-Validation process to ensure the highest quality of care and service every three years. This means we can bill Medicare for any item that is a Medicare covered item for our patients instead of having them pay up front and bill Medicare themselves.
